Disc-Golf – that’s like playing golf without golfball and golf club. Because most of the rules are identical to those of the real golf game. The needed equipment for Disc-Golf is a frisbee, which is shaped differently according to long distances, approximations or the so-called „putting“. The “hole” of the typical golf game is substituted with a basket when it comes to Disc-Golf: on a rack of 1,40 meters height, the basket is attached at a height of 80 centimeters. It has a diameter of 60 centimeters and there are chains around it to decelerate the Frisbee.
In Germany, Disc-Golf is still young but it enjoys a growing popularity.
Nationwide you can find about 20 fixed disc golf courses. One of them is located in the residential town of Wolfenbüttel. In the Seeligerpark the 9-lane-course offers with its fix installed chain-baskets on a 644 meter course a semi-natural sports experience. Trees, shrubs, hills, rock collections and other natural circumstances build obstacles that must be overcome during the game. The Disc-Golf course in Seeligerpark is freely accessible for everyone.
In Brunswick the Bürgerpark is a great location for Disc-Golf players to putt with their frisbees.
