The Karstwanderweg in the southern part of the Harz mountains offers the walker a whole series of views of the impressive natural karst, which can be admired at regular intervals all along the route. The footpath runs from Osterode in Niedersachsen to Pölsfeld in Saxony-Anhalt, There is also a second, more southerly version of the Lower Saxon stretch with some more sites of natural interest. Dry valleys, dolines, karst caves and the unique vegetation on the porous subsoil are just a few reasons for pulling on your walking boots for this footpath.
