Variety is one of the biggest pluses for climbers in Niedersachsen. In the beautifully situated climbing areas, you will find well-secured sport climbing routes as well as unspoilt routes of every level of difficulty. In Weser-Leine-Bergland, Niedersachsen’s largest climbing region, the limestone of the Ith awaits fans of holes, ledges and roofs. The Western and Southern Harz mountains also offer great climbing opportunities, with fantastic granite and limestone routes. The Göttinger Wald with its many sandstone massifs is one of many climbing gems.

A rope challenge course is an artificial adventure space 8 – 15 metres above the ground, where, in complete safety, you complete various obstacle courses from climbing walls to netting constructions to various types of bridges. To overcome these obstacles requires courage and physical coordination, as well as communication, team-working skills and mutual trust, as most of the obstacles can only be confronted as a team.

Skyrope – North Germanys biggest rope challenge course
North Germany’s biggest rope challenge park has opened in Bad Harzburg. On a 10,000 m² site in the Kalten valley, Skyrope offers a rope challenge facility mounted on 26 twelve metre high poles. Skyrope rope challenge course’s star-shaped construction offers maximum room to manoeuvre in choosing the individual exercises. The many different top-rope and safety elements make it one of the biggest and most varied rope challenge parks in Germany.

Should it happen, heaven forbid, to rain in Niedersachsen, climbers don’t have to forego their vertical pleasures. A variety of climbing walls, facilities and indoor centres offer the opportunity to climb off-piste all year round. For beginners too, the artificial facilities offer the ideal location for getting to know the sport and for learning the basics of climbing and safety.
